About This Coffee :
The Sidamo coffee offers a diverse range of flavors, owing to the varied soil types, microclimates, and numerous raw coffee varieties present in the region. Each town produces coffee with distinct differences due to these factors. In the years 2010-2012, Sidamo coffee consistently received high ratings of 92-94 points on a prominent US coffee review website, highlighting the exceptional quality of the raw coffee beans produced here.
Characterized by high-altitude mountain ranges, highlands, valleys, and plains, the region boasts a diverse topography. The soil, consisting of fertile volcanic soil with good drainage systems, reaches a depth of nearly 2 meters, and the surface soil typically displays a dark brown or brown color. Natural fertilization is provided to the coffee trees through fallen leaves from nearby forests, plant withering, and the remaining roots of plants.
This particular batch of coffee is produced by the Shilcho Cooperative, situated near Dilla Town. Established in 1976, the cooperative is currently a member of the Sidama Coffee Farmer Cooperative Union (SCFCU). Following the second selective picking, the carefully chosen coffee beans exhibit exceptional flavor profiles.
