About This Coffee :
The Panama Finca Lerida Geisha Washed is a highly acclaimed coffee from the Finca Lerida estate, located in the renowned Boquete region of Panama. This coffee is from the Geisha variety, which is famous for its exquisite floral and fruity characteristics, often described as jasmine, peach, and citrus tones, along with a bright acidity. The washed process used at Finca Lerida enhances the clarity and vibrancy of these flavors by thoroughly washing the beans after fermentation, allowing the coffee’s natural floral and fruity notes to shine.
Finca Lerida itself has a rich history. It was founded in 1924 by a Norwegian engineer, Tollef Monniche, who also developed innovative coffee processing methods still in use today. The farm is situated at high altitudes (1,600–1,835 meters), which contributes to the exceptional quality of its coffee. Today, the estate is managed by the Amoruso family, who focus on both sustainable farming and eco-tourism.
This Geisha coffee is best enjoyed at a light to medium roast to preserve its delicate floral qualities. It is celebrated for its elegance and complexity, often placing highly in competitions like the Best of Panama.
